Daily Provision

This passage came to mind this morning…

Deuteronomy 33:25b (nkjv)

…As your days, so shall your strength be.

The New International Version reads, “…And your strength will equal your days.”

This is a marvelous prophetic promise spoken to the tribe of Asher. Spiritually, I believe it speaks to any believer who accepts and embraces it by faith. As your days, so shall your strength be!

Whatever your days bring, you will have the wherewithal to face and manage them with confidence and ease. This is a divine provision.

It reminds me of Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:34, “Don’t worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself. You have enough to worry about today.” (CEV). Each day takes care of itself.

Wow! This is amazing! If you can absorb and adopt it… Each day brings with it all that you need to live it fully and effectively.

Jeremiah said that the Lord’s mercies and compassions “…are new every morning.” (Lamentations 3:22-23). Ponder that… Every morning…new mercies…new compassions. Each day…new and necessary strength…

When enquiring of the Lord about a troubling and trying circumstance, Paul wrote that the Lord’s answer was “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9). That is, divine influence upon the heart, favor and strength is adequate for every engagement. Even though the challenge may weaken you, God’s strength is perfected, matured and completed therein.

Jesus taught his disciples to pray “Give us this day our daily bread.” (Matthew 6:11). Or, as it is in Luke 11:3, “Give us day by day our daily bread.” This may be broadly interpreted, ‘give us day by day every provision necessary for our physical existence.’ That would include food, shelter, clothing, wisdom, strength, etc., etc..

Peter wrote, God’s “divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” (2 Peter 1:3 NIV). The King James Version reads, “…all things that pertain to life and godliness…”. So, what is not covered? Through our knowledge of him (God), His divine power provides everything we need. We tap His divine power and partake of His divine nature through exceeding great and precious promises [read 2 Peter 1:1-4].

The character and nature of God is to provide all of His creation everything necessary for existence. The challenge of mankind is to agree, adopt and adapt his living accordingly.

Live Godly! Trust God! For “As your days, so shall your strength be!”
